Day 34 - Tattershall Bridge to Boston

Monday 5th September

11.5 miles

60 today!
The big 60! Nice morning set sail from Tattershal Bridge and after two and a half hours on the straightest river ever the Boston stump came into sight and we arrived in Boston seeing more Egyption geese, cormorants and low flying planes on the way.

Approaching Boston and the Stump
Boston stump is enormous but not very attractive close up.

Wandered into the town very narrow busy streets, lots of Eastern Europeans. We were not very enamoured on our first impression as the whole town seemed to be dominated by traffic.

Birthday meal
Went back into town for the evening. Quieter now, stopped for a drink in a lovely bar but there were only two other customers. Wetherspoons next before going to a small Italian restaurant where we had a lovely meal served by an eccentric waitress. Paul got a happy birthday flaming sambuca!
