Day 40 - Lincoln to Torksey Lock

Sunday 11th September

11 miles

Lincoln Cathedral on a sunny day
Beautiful blue sky morning. Took another walk up Steep Hill to see the castle and cathedral in the sun. Stopped for coffee at The Rest before doing a quick co-op shop.

Unable to get through to Torksey Lock to check tide times but decided to cruise there anyway. The Fossdyke seemed a lot longer on the way back, more boats around too being a Sunday.

Moored at visitor moorings and Paul wandered up to see the lock keeper, not good news the tides are at the wrong times, ie 4.30 am or 4.30 pm not suitable for cruising due to light at this time of year and weak. We may be here until Thursday!

Wandered to the White Swan lots of village gossip going on as the locals gathered for quiz night. Back to boat for chilli.
