Day 41 - Torksey Lock

Monday 12th September

0.5 miles, 1 lock

Mooring below the lock waiting for first light
Very late waking up but no rush as we are going nowhere. Caught upon the Archers and did a jigsaw.

Paul confirmed with the lock keeper that we would go down the lock tonight to moor on the pontoons and leave at first light.

Moved along to pump out/water point about 4.00pm, two other narrowboats there and another arrived just after we got there. Heard that two narrowboats had beached at Butler Island, one whilst attempting to rescue the other. They arrived at the pontoon as we did as well as two other narrowboats from the north. It was quite cozy and NB Dabbling breasted up against us as they are heading out at first light too. After a hectic ten minutes and everybody secured it was a mass exodus to the White Swan.
